First Congregational Church of Milton

Board of Benevolence

Mission

It is the Mission of the Board of Benevolence Committee to actively learn about the needs of our greater social community and to locate opportunities that bring help and healing in order to educate, challenge, and inspire our congregation so that together we can show our faith by being a more loving, compassionate and diverse people.
The Board of Benevolence Committee offers a variety of possibilities to serve the local community: through the congregation’s donated monies, donated services, donated time, and/or donated in-kind gifts.

Community Involvement

Father Bill's & Mainspring

There is an opportunity, each month, to serve a meal at the Mainspring Homeless Shelter in Brockton.
Sign-up in the Great Hall! Lasagnas & dessert for 120 people are also needed on an ongoing basis.
Please drop off these necessary items in the Church Kitchen throughout the week, all year long. Thank You!

City Mission Society of Boston's
Christmas Shop

During each Christmas season, Board of Benevolence supports Boston City Mission Society's (CMS) Christmas Shop.
Our congregation collects clothes, books, winter items, socks, backpacks, boots, sneakers, towels, blankets,
sheets, etc for CMS's Homeless Prevention clients which serves over 4,000 people.
First Congregational Church partners with the East Congregational Church each year on this project.
